This intervention is part of the STRONGBOW Project (Sustainable tourism based on natural resource management with gender balance towards women) and involves a consortium combines the  Katholieke University Leuven (BE) and Central University of Technology (SA) together with a range of individual specialists.

The project aims to:

• Formulate multi‐disciplinary training and research plans;
  
• Enhance staff quality and quantity;
  
• Improve curricula and training approaches;
  
• Improve research skills through interdisciplinary demand‐driven action research;
  
• Establish sustainable financing mechanisms;
  
• Strengthen networking between the various partners
  
• Enhance institutional coordinating capacity
