Six groups who acquired land in the Midderus area through the land reform programme have decided to allocate a portion of their land to the joint venture in vegetables. These areas range between 20 and 78 hectares – and range between 1 and 23 % of their property. In supporting the communities who have provided their land in this way, ADA has appointed Phuhlisani to provide a management support service to:
· Provide oversight and advice on the business aspects
· Provide capacity building of the leadership and the membership more generally on their joint venture and with regard to their land and other resources more generally.
Work on this project will commence shortly and we will carry reports on the issues it presents in future articles on the website.
